Domaine des Cormiers Roux is located in Chançay, at the heart of the Vouvray appellation in the Loire Valley. The vineyard has been in the Gaucher family for five generations and is now run by Eric Gaucher and his sister Patricia Véron, with support from the next generation, Lucas.
The family farms 22 hectares of vineyards planted entirely on clay-limestone soils, the classic terroir of Vouvray. These soils give the wines their characteristic balance, combining freshness and structure with the mineral expression typical of the region.
Eric oversees the vineyards with a strong commitment to sustainable agriculture, the estate is also certified High Environmental Value (HVE).
The vineyards stretch along the right bank of the Loire River and the valleys east of Tours, where Chenin Blanc thrives. Depending on harvest timing, the family produces a full range of Vouvray styles—from dry wines harvested earlier to off-dry and sweet wines made from later-picked grapes.
